A heart filled with aspirations is all that we knew since the very existence of the school on April 16, 2017 and that’s what gave us the ambition of marching forward till excellence is achieved in all our endeavours Our school is a unique environment, a haven of quiet and calm in a busy and frenetic world. Here the children are able to exercise decision-making and choice, restricted only by the rights of others to enjoy the same. Here they are able to build the habits for work — to persist through difficulty, to make an effort, to accept the challenge of the new or different, to communicate and co-operate with others. This is made possible with the positive, honest and warm assistance from the thoughtful adults around them.
We strive for excellence in everything we do. We provide a learning environment that allows every student to thrive as an individual. Excellent performance is not an exception but an expectation at The Lakewood School. We try to build greater engagement with the school by the wider community – school staff, students, parents and Society. We have a priority on recognising and rewarding accomplishment. We teach students, not subjects.
As a regular practice followed every year, this session began with the Orientation Programme for the parents of the students of classes Pre-School to Grade VIII. The programme made the parents aware of the scheme of education we impart here at our school.
Promoting the harmony across all communities, Special Assemblies are conducted on a regular basis where all the Festivals irrespective of the religion & followings are fondly celebrated. Earth Day, Labour Day, Mother’s day, World Environment day, Independence Day, National Sports day, Teacher’s Day, Hindi Diwas, UN Day, you name it and they would share the relevance very confidently !
Glorifying india’s diverse ethos and keeping them rooted in their culture, we celebrate every festival in School. Krishan Janamashtami, Rakhi, Teej, Lohri, Diwali, Guruparvs and Christmas- We revel in every tradition and belief system to enrich ourselves.
Since the last two years, we are making our students take the first taste of democracy and leadership qualities through the totally Computerized Voting System in Student Council Elections which has enabled us to remove the manual problems in counting the ballots.
SOF Conducts Asia’s largest Olympiads namely: National Science Olympiad (NSO), National Cyber, Maths and Science Olympiads… Though many students achieved accolades for themselves and School, Raunaqq of Grade 1 stood first at international level and brought pride to all of us. God bless Raunaqq and may she keep attaining unprecedented heights in life.
An Eye and Dental camp was conducted by the doctors of Sohana Hospital for the School. In addition to this – regular height, weight and chest measurements have been recorded for all the students in the beginning of the year. These will be compared with the yearend measurements and would be reported to the parents in the final report.
It is important for the children to realize how privileged they are to have wonderful parents like you. The school has conducted 2 social responsibility camps during the year for the children to realize the importance of sharing and helping. Collecting and sending things for flood relief and being part of Goonj, a national NGO is first step towards becoming socially responsible. During winter students collected winter clothes and distributed them amongst needy through the Lakewood Wheel of compassion. We thank the parents for the contributions.
We are drowning in information and severely starving for wisdom today. Fortunately, we are empowered with demographic dividend knocking on our door. We just need to break the cocoon and let in the beautiful colours of knowledge. I am sure in the coming years, we shall successfully channelize the halo of the young minds to explore best of their abilities.
Towards the end, I thank the supportive management whose continuous support to our ideology of education has enabled the school to come this far. Teachers and the entire staff members also deserve applause for their tireless efforts in implementing the route map of imparting quality education here. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the parents of our students who have shown unflinching faith in us by giving us the profound opportunity to transform their children into truly useful citizens of the future world.
With that, let us foresee a world of universal singularity where our children are going to be the propellant of this change and the world shall be a beautiful place to live in..!!!
